Importance of the Arabic Language

The Department of Islamic Studies at The University of Faisalabad organized a special event to celebrate International World Arabic Day, highlighting the historical, cultural, and religious significance of the Arabic language. The event aimed to promote awareness of Arabic as a vital language for understanding Islamic teachings and the Holy Qur’an.

Scholarly Session and Guest Speakers

The program was graced by Dr. Humaira Khalil, Associate Professor, Department of Islamic Studies, who attended as the Chief Guest. A virtual guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Habib-ul-Allah Khan, Assistant Professor at the International Islamic University, Islamabad. He emphasized the importance of learning Arabic and mastering Tajweed to understand and recite the Holy Qur’an properly.

Tajweed Quiz Competition

To encourage student participation, a Tajweed Quiz Competition was arranged. The competition tested students’ knowledge of Arabic language rules and Qur’anic recitation. The quiz was supervised and evaluated by Ms. Safia Jaffar and Dr. Ammara Rehman, ensuring transparency and academic fairness.

Student Participation and Achievements

Three student teams participated enthusiastically in the competition, representing departments such as Psychology, Optometry, Doctor of Physical Therapy, and Islamic Studies. After a competitive round, Team C secured first position. Cash prizes were awarded to the winners, while certificates of participation were distributed among all participants.
